Alun Cochrane is a professional comedian in high demand on the UK and international comedy circuit.
In 2004 his debut Edinburgh solo show ‘My Favourite Words in My Best Stories’ garnered him a handful of four and five star reviews and a Perrier newcomer nomination to go alongside the Writer’s Guild Award For Comedy.
Since then he’s performed sell out shows at the Edinburgh festival each year as well as travelling the world recounting the funny things that have happened to him either in life or in cafes.
In 2006 Alun made several broadcast debuts appearing on the BBC’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Have I got News For You and Radio 4’s Just A Minute as well as various stand-up spots on the Paramount comedy channel.
Alun prides himself on a high turnover of quality material and is assisted in this by being able to try new ideas in his role as resident host at
The Ginglik in Shepherd’s Bush considered by many comics, critics and audience members alike to be one of the best comedy nights in the capital.
As an in demand studio warm-up Alun makes a hard job look fun and easy and is regularly used on shows hosted by Dara O’Briain, Graham Norton, and Rory Bremner amongst many others.
2007 sees Cochrane’s first trip to New Zealand’s Laugh comedy festival in Auckland and various other writing and performing projects are in the pipeline.
